Toby Wills-Hart (b.2000, Dorset)
My practice is painting in oils, but not limited to. I embody an investigative approach to different mediums to explore themes of consciousness, the self and the idea of paint as its own entity. I see the process of painting as a method of meditation that allows for exploration of the truth.
Central to my practice is the idea of interconnectedness. The painting calls the viewer to question themselves, how solid is the boundary between oneself and the rest of the world. They are less about representation but more as a space to open into oneness, a space for observation and listening.
